Applying principles of action learning in undergraduate economics programs
An Economics Network funded project, 2010-11
Institution: Heriot-Watt University
Project leader: Dr Robert Mochrie
In this project, I assume that undergraduate students are able to devise effective strategies for self-directed learning, and, given some training, can provide mutual support as they attempt to implement these strategies. Specifically, by adapting the model of action learning (Revans, 1972) to undergraduate experience, I shall encourage my students to take on greater responsibility for outcomes within a problem based learning environment.
