Two new case studies from GTAs
Two attendees at our Graduate Teaching Assistants' workshop have given us case studies. In "Teaching economics to social scientists: is current practice fit for purpose?" Eric Golson talks about firing up students' interest with real-world examples. In "Case Study from a GTA Workshop" Suparna Ray writes about the different skills a GTA has to develop, and how an Economics Network workshop helped.

Organised by the Festival of Ideas and programmed by Diane Coyle, this includes four discussion events looking at the recent failures and future prospects for the subject. The Network hosts the biennial Developments in Economics Education (DEE) Conference (formerly DEBE).
DEE 2013 will take place on the 5th and 6th September 2013 at the University of Exeter.
Economics Network Autumn Workshops
The Economics Network plans to run its autumn series of workshops for graduate teaching assistants and new lecturers again in 2013. For information on these workshops, please visit the 2012 webpages for GTAs and early careers lecturers. Further details will be released in the summer.
